Aww what a joy in my week to have been included in your blog Gareth! Home now and missing Scotland but forever grateful to have lovely friends both old and new in such a beautiful part of the world. Already looking forward to my next visit ❤️
Another lovely lot of ramblings! 🥰 I work in 'academia' like you and like you I love my colleagues and am grateful for the flexibility of the job BUT I have finally found out what I want to be when I grow up... and that's retired! 😂 Fortunately for me retirement is currently about 20 months away - and I'm looking forward to much more creativity time - although you're right that we need to look out for the every day joys and not wish our lives away 😜 Your book club sounds fabulous and your basil is looking very healthy! Hope this week is full of moments of joy 💖
Thank you so much Vikki. You're right, we can't wish our lives away, but I think many of us could quite happily fill our days with more creativity if we were allowed! *goes and buys more lottery tickets* 😂
Always enjoy each sentence as it’s light and informative and sometimes tugs at my heart to travel there, hug the pups & make supper with these amazing guys!
Thanks for sharing your week again Gareth. Social media does have its downfalls but as you say better than it is worse. I started following your friend Gill. What a lovely lady she is (a bit of a dodgy week they've had) I love her 'out the back door in the morning'. So thanks to you guys I've made another lovely on-line friend. Social media at its best. So happy about your Basil too.
Ah, Bob, that's lovely to read. Gill's account is one of those that's pure joy and inspiration, and appreciative of all the steady, simple pleasures in life.
Thanks for another wee peek into life at Keepers Cottage! It sounds as though you live in a great little community, all the better for the contributions you are making.
I made your ice cream (2nd time) for a dinner party on Saturday night - flavoured with Abelour single malt, to accompany an apple cake - what a combo! It went down a treat!
Thanks for bringing a bit of lightheartedness & joy when the world is feeling awfully bleak 🌤️
I agree, it is very easy to compare oneself with others lives when scrolling and I often feel completely inadequate. But, having said that, it is incredibly inspiring to read others' posts, I have picked up some ideas which I'm hoping will come to fruition.
Oh, that homemade ice cream again!
Your book club sounds absolutely wonderful, what a brilliant idea!
I live your baskets which you basil is growing in.
I'm wondering if Paul has read your blog yet, looking forward to seeing the new paint colours!
Enjoy your walk on the beach and have a wonderful Sunday ❤️
Thank you for such a lovely comment Helen, I am always so grateful for your support. Paul's fine with the new colours in principle, but not the room I'd got my eye on! 😂
As always , a lovely read. I was feeling a bit meh about my week but now I sat thinking of four positive things. I know it doesn’t have to be four but you started this so I’ll continue 😂. Oh and if that Rugby job ever becomes available and you need help - I’m your woman !!!!!
😂 I think there'll be a fair few applicants. And I'm sorry to hear you were feeling a bit meh, but glad to hear it's also inspired you to think about the little moments of joy! G xx

What would life be without those little things like reading about your adventures!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to live in Scotland🙏🙏
Thank you Patrice, such a lovely comment, as always!

I so enjoy your posts, stunning photos as always. I've had many holidays in that neck of the woods and agree Crinan is fabulous!
Thank you so much Lynne!
Pure envy 💕🐾
💕
It's easy to pass over the little joys of life. We should all take time to think of 4 each week. x
I agree - it's so important to remind ourselves of what is good! 💕
